Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience
The Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Neuroscience was established as a degree-granting program in 2012 and has since quickly become one of the most popular biological science degrees on campus.
The undergraduate major has its home in the Department of Physiology in the College of Natural Science since 2018, but there is also a coordinate major through the Lyman Briggs College.
More information about the specific degree requirements can be found in the Neuroscience Program Requirements section.
NOTICE ON CURRICULUM CHANGE: The Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience has undergone a curriculum change effective for the Fall 2024 Semester and beyond.
Returning students who already declared their B.S. in Neuroscience in Summer 2024
or prior are grandfathered into what we are now calling the Legacy Curriculum. However,
any returning student who is currently pursuing another major who wishes to change
their major in Fall 2024 and beyond must follow the new curriculum. Returning students
who wish to pursue either an additional major or 2nd B.S. in Neuroscience during Fall 2024 and beyond must also follow the Fall 2024 Curriculum.
Please visit our Neuroscience Program Requirements page for more information.
For Students Interested in Careers in Healthcare
Students who are thinking of pursuing a career in healthcare may have additional requirements outside of the neuroscience degree requirements. Please consult with the pre-health advising and resources page, meet with a pre-health advisor, and/or meet with your academic advisor to further discuss.
