During the 2024 Integrated Pharmacological Sciences Training Program Retreat on September
26, several students from the Molecular, Cellular, and Integrative Physiology (MCIP)
graduate program presented their research during the poster session. Alexis Boron,
a second-year Ph.D. candidate in the MCIP graduate program, was selected to deliver
an oral presentation. Additionally, graduate students from other Ph.D. programs conducting
research in labs within the Department of Physiology also presented their posters.
The IPSTP is an interdisciplinary training program funded by an NIH T32 training grant.
The program is directed by Dr. Anne Dorrance and Dr. Gina Leinninger and is open to
Ph.D. students from seven Ph.D. programs — Pharmacology and Toxicology; Biochemistry
and Molecular Biology, Chemistry; Chemical Engineering and Material Science; Microbiology
Genetics and Immunology, Neuroscience; and Physiology.
This year's retreat took place at the Interdisciplinary Science and Technology Building,
with Dr. Richard Neubig, professor emeritus in the Department of Pharmacology and
Toxicology and director of the MSU Drug Discovery Program, serving as the keynote
speaker.
