The Bazil lab is focused on the study of cardiac energetics and how it is impacted by heart disease and ischemia/reperfusion injury. We implement both experimental and computational models to analyze how changes in energetic demand, substrate supply, and oxidative stress alter cellular and mitochondrial physiology.
