1st Annual Physiology Majors Interest Group (P-MIG) Conference

Erica Wehrwein, Assistant Professor of Physiology at Michigan State University, hosted the 1st Annual Physiology Majors Interest Group (P-MIG) Conference May 18-19, 2017 at Michigan State University.  

This two-day event focused on the introduction of national and international peer physiology undergraduate degree programs and their current physiology curricula.  Attendees participated in workshops to identify common threads in existing programs and discuss programmatic assessment.  Highlights of the event include talks by Dr. Joel Michael of Rush University on published core concepts in Physiology and Dr. Phil Gardner on employment trends for Physiology degree holders. 

The event was generously sponsored by The American Physiological Society, The Association of Chairs of Departments of Physiology, Michigan State University (Dept. of Physiology, College of Natural Science, and the Provost office for Undergraduate Education), The University of Oregon Department of Human Physiology, and The University of Arizona College of Medicine.
